From the Boston Herald:
He is preparing for the start of his seventh NHL season, but Parro’ generosity doesn’t need any training camp. That big heart of his remains in mid-season shape…..
Parros recently began working with Defending the Blue Line, a non-profit that helps children of military personnel deployed overseas. Active soldiers also can receive free tickets to Ducks games through a promotion called “Parros’ Platoon”.
Just remember all this the next time you see Parros doing his job, which basically is to protect his teammates. Makes a lot of sense now, doesn’t it? This is a man who takes his work home with him, and maybe our community is just a little better because of it.
“Defending the Blue Line is a cool thing” Parros said. “It’s great to be able to help kids stay involved in hockey while a parent or maybe both parents are away. When I heard about it, I was glad to become a part of it.”
