Minnesota State Fair Military Day 2011

Visit the Defending The Blue Line booth in support of Military Appreciation Day

Defending the Blue Line (DTBL) is proud to announce that the organization has been invited to host a booth at the Minnesota State Fair on August 30th as part of Military Appreciation Day at the Fair. DTBL’s booth will be located on West Dan Patch Avenue between Heritage Square and the Midway.

As part of this one day event, DTBL will host former North Star Great JP Parise (1:00-2:00PM) , and Minnesota Wild players Jeff Taffe (3:00-4:00PM) and Cal Clutterbuck (3:30-4:30 PM) . In addition to these appearances, DTBL will be giving away 1000 foam hockey pucks, and visitors will have the opportunity to shoot pucks on DTBL Founder and President Shane Hudella. At the DTBL booth, visitors will also be able to pick up DTBL metal dog tags for $5, and signed copies of the book Minnesota Ice Arenas for just $10.

Defending The Blue Line is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by a group of National Guard soldiers in Minnesota. The charity assists families of all branches of the military with costs associated with hockey. They provide financial assistance for registration fees, free equipment, summer hockey camps, and sending many deserving families down to Xcel Energy Center for a night of fun at a Minnesota Wild game, as well as other NHL venues across the U.S.

Defending The Blue Line is excited for this opportunity to further help military families and celebrate the service of our military heroes. Keeping the kids of military families focused and active in hockey is a great way to help keep their minds off of a parent’s upcoming deployment.
